2017 CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Thank you for your upcoming participation in the 2017 National Conference on Cultural Property Protection hosted at the Art Institute of Chicago. This note is intended as preparation for your visit.

LOCATION:

The conference will be held in three different venues within the Art Institute of Chicago:

START TIME:

Check-in and continental breakfast will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Sessions will begin each day at 9 a.m. Entry is permittedno earlierthan 7:45 a.m.; please note the Art Institute will open to the public at 10:30 a.m.

GETTING THERE:

The Art Institute of Chicago is located in the heart of the city’s downtown. The museum offers two main entrances: one to the historic building at 111 South Michigan Avenue and one to the Modern Wing at 159 East Monroe Street. The best entrance for each day of the Conference is outined below, including a third non-public entrance.

Parking in Chicago is limited; the use of public transportation is highly recommended. Please refer to http://www.artic.edu/visit/directions-and-parking for additional maps and information.

EVENING RECEPTION & PLANNING FOR GUESTS:

Exploration of the Modern Galleries and a reception are planned at the Art Institute of Chicago Modern WingonWednesday.

Guests are welcome to participate but must be registered.

Of course, guests are encouraged to explore the Chicago area museum attractions during public hours. Thanks to the generous support of Museums in the Perk, complimentary passes will be available to six area attractions: Adler Planetarium, the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum, The Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Shedd Aquarium. Please be sure to retain your Conference name badge to be used in conjunction with these special passes.
