Nikkia Morgan
Lieutenant, Office of Protection Services, Smithsonian Institution
Bringing 21 years of experience at the Smithsonian and currently serving as a Lieutenant for the National Museum of the American History (NMAH), Nikkia Morgan is responsible for Daily Unit Control Room reports that identify nuisance alarms and unusual activity, and she ensures that operators are adhering to proper procedures. Lt. Morgan conducts unscheduled post and building inspections checking for safety and security violations and, if any safety violations are discovered, she immediately takes the necessary steps to resolve the situation. She completes weekly safety reports and attends monthly safety, zone, and construction meetings, keeping management informed of all activities concerning NMAH. She also communicates clearly with all personnel on procedures, work assignments, and policies so that the objective is met and the mission accomplished without error. She prepares presentations for OPS Leadership, identifying partnerships within Smithsonian and how they are needed to complete the mission.
