Will Palenscar
Sergeant, Office of Protection Services, Smithsonian Institution
Sgt. Palenscar has been with the Smithsonian’s Office of Protection Services since January 2011. His career started as an officer, then as a Control Room Operator at Steven Udvar- Hazy Air and Space Museum, and currently he is a Sergeant at National Museum of African American History and Culture. Prior to that, from 2002-2016, Sgt. Palenscar worked with the Fairfax County Sheriffs Office as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He also worked with the Broward County School System for 3 years doing security at the largest high school in the US, at the time having over 5700 students.
Sgt. Palenscar also does photography for The Connection Newspapers and writes articles for events he photographs. His other hobbies include going to concerts with friends and riding his bicycle.
