Kevin Roby
Physical Security Specialist, Smithsonian Institution
Kevin Roby was born and raised in Maryland and currently resides in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1989 and was honorably discharged in 1992 after serving in Desert Shield/Storm during the Kuwait liberation. He is the Manager of the Physical Security Program for the Smithsonian Institution, where he has worked for the past 14 years. Prior to that, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Maintenance Technician and as the Postal Headquarters Physical Security Coordinator. He also worked briefly in the housing construction field where he ran his own business doing finish carpentry in new houses. Even though he no longer works in construction, he still has a passion for woodworking and loves to do projects on the side, such as building furniture and home improvement. He is married with two daughters, and his family loves to spend time together at their condo at the beach.
