Lance Chwan

Incident Response Manager, Metropolitan Museum of Art

Lance Chwan is a former U.S. Marine Infantryman and Project Manager at several U.S. Embassies and consulates worldwide. He also served as Force Protection Supervisor for U.S. military/NATO bases. Chwan has more than 25 years of U.S. government security and international law enforcement experience. His experience includes more than 7 years as a Countermeasures Instructor with Diplomatic Security Service at more than 100 U.S. Embassies, consulates, and government facilities worldwide. Chwan also served 5 years as a Detachment Commander, supervising teams of security guards for the U.S. Marines Corp. He served at five different austere posts, including the activation of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2004 and 2005. While serving as a Senior Instructor with Diplomatic Security, Chwan taught, mentored, and drilled with local guard forces at U.S. Embassies and consulates, and often these groups numbered over 1,000 guards. He has instructed at all four International Law Enforcement Academies and at the Diplomatic Security Training Center in Dunn Loring, Virginia. He has trained with the Global Antiterrorism Training Assistance and Antiterrorism Assistance programs as well. Currently, he is assigned as an Incident Response Manager at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where he also serves as a Trainer/Instructor.
